Myopia

True New England Power Metal - New Haven, CT

Myopia is a melodic power-progressive metal band from New Haven, CT. For nearly six years they have been playing a brand of metal virtually unknown in the local area - proudly flying the banner of power metal even when it wasn't easy.

"It's about a movement as much as anything else..." says lead singer Mark Grey.

"Our people are looking something to call their own. Our fans are the kind of people who feel really dispossessed in the current music culture. They love metal, especially the classic stuff, but they generally don't have a band to call their own and get behind, and the stuff they hear on the radio or get on TV is just fucking bullshit. We want to give them something to believe in as much as something to listen to."

The band has played opening sets with some of their heroes, including SONATA ARCTICA, NIGHTWISH, SYMPHONY X, THREE INCHES OF BLOOD and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY.

Brutal Latin Metal - Puerto Rico

Machete is a latin metal band from Puerto Rico that has been touring Around USA & PR for the last 8 years. The band changed their name from Macheteros in 2000.

They have shared the stage with such acts as ANTHRAX, D.R.I, SOULFLY, KITTY, ANGELES DEL INFIERNO(Spain) A.N.I.M.A.L(Argentina), MALEVOLENT CREATION, PUYA, and the BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.

During their extensive US tour, the band is making a stopover at Summer Assault to play a headlining set promoting their latest album release. Machete is ready to bring their unique brand of melodic metal to the US, and you can be there to witness one of their first shows here at SUMMER ASSAULT!

CT Death Metal - New Haven, CT

Kick ass tunes, strong songwriting skills and an intense stage presence is what lays the foundation for Connecticut's metal juggernauts Eyes Of The Dead. Even though they formed in late 2004, they are no newbies to the scene or the genre.

With a hard work ethic and do-it-yourself attitude, they've earned opening slots for huge metal acts like Dillenger Escape Plan, Unearth, Cradle Of Filth, Opeth, Anthrax and Exodus.

Their sound is their own, combining elements of thrash and death metal with melodic, catchy hooks that will have you singing and moshing at the same time.

Engraved is a 5 piece Melodic Death metal band from the frosty north with Technical Sweeps, crazy high flying bass, brutal rhythm, heart-stopping drums, and unholy vocals!

Forever Forbidden

Melodic Death Metal - West Hartford, CT

Forever Forbidden, from West Hartford, CT, with vocalist Rich Tobin, lead guitarist Wasif Anwar, rhythm guitarist TBA, bassist Marlon Anthony, and drummer Jared Mccleve play Progressive/Melodic Death Metal. The band formed in the summer of 2008. Each member brings their own one-of-a-kind element to their progressive-melodic music, with tons of catchy melodies, heavy breakdowns, fast and technically precise drumming, unique vocals, brutal lead guitars, chunky rhythm guitars and some heart dropping bass!

"Individually, we have had some very tough times in our lives; we bring all that to our writing. Music is our way of life!" Latin Metal from NYC

M-16 is a Latin Hardcore band that blows away all stereotypes of Latinos in Metal music.

In 2001 the band released a video for their track La Sangre Que Corre En Mis Venas shot by veteran director David Capurso. The full-length album Canciones Escritas En El Exilio soon followed, along with many outings to support the release including tours in Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, and in Houston and Dallas opening for Los Angeles del Infierno.

Old School Thrash - NYC

MARTYRD is a New York based thrash/speed metal outfit that wants you to come on down and wreck your neck! The band has played opening slots in the Big Apple with such metal legends as Deicide, Sonata Arctica and Twisted Sister - at such famous venues as BB King's and the Nokia Theater in Times Square.
